Course Description

This workshop explores the complexities of clinician self-disclosure within the therapeutic relationship, focusing on the ethical and clinical implications of sharing personal information, including personal values, opinions, perspective and intimate details of one’s life. Participants will examine the potential benefits and risks of self-disclosure, consider its impact on therapeutic boundaries, and learn strategies for navigating these conversations while maintaining professionalism and client trust. Through discussions and case studies, attendees will develop tools to make informed decisions about self-disclosure that prioritize client well-being and the integrity of the therapeutic alliance.
